Does Spending More = Happier Vacations?

Transcript:

When I think about the different vacations our family of four has gone on, I don't think there is any correlation whatsoever with how much we spend and how much fun we have. We've done everything from trips to Hawaii to camping...maybe the cheapest form of vacation! And some of our absolute best memories as a family while traveling have been on those camping trips, which is crazy to me â€“ that this is one of the things in your life that you purchase where you would expect to get the most enjoyment, the most fun, the most memories by spending more. And you know what? I would even say this is sort of liberating because it takes the pressure off. Now of course there is a place for really big vacations, for going big. But it also says you don't have to to have a great time and whatever you're doing, as long as you're doing it – our case with our two little ones – it is good. So think about that as you're figuring out what you want to do this summer, how you want to spend your time, how you want to spend your money, and what that will result in for you. Good luck and enjoy the summer!
