Our clients…

…worry less about money

Parenting, careers, family, volunteering, friends, staying active, and so much more. Modern life for young families is synonymous with juggling a multitude of demands on our incomes. Adding financial decisions can quickly feel overwhelming.

Our clients spend less time worrying about money as they work with us to ensure the important things are getting done. They feel empowered knowing their money is working for them. Where money once caused anxiety, it becomes a tool that helps clients live the life they want to lead.

…want to know they’re on the right path

It’s tempting to procrastinate on money decisions. Unlike a tax return, there is no calendar deadline for getting your financial life on-track. As we all know, this can lead to missed opportunities, regret, and a less bright future.

Our clients are not interested in hoping their financial lives ‘work out.’ They want actionable advice to know they’re making the most of today while building confidently toward the future.

…Value Transparency in what they’re paying

Our clients know that if a financial planner cannot explain her or his fees in 30 seconds or less, it’s time to find a new planner. We are a fee-only financial planner. Simply put, we are paid only by our clients. No commissions, no kickbacks, and no hidden fees. We do not sell any financial products, and there is no sales compensation leading to ulterior motives. Because fees are clearly stated in advance, clients know what to expect and avoid surprises. Our clients value the clarity of how we’re paid, and we think it’s the right way to do business.

…know that fiduciary advice is the way to go

Our clients know they have a guide and advocate acting in their best interest (called a “fiduciary standard of care” in legal terminology) through the murky waters of the financial world. As a fiduciary, we are legally bound to put clients’ interests before our own. We’ve chosen to be a fiduciary because we believe it’s the right thing to do.

It may come as a surprise that fiduciary planners are still the exception to the rule. After all, you wouldn’t see a doctor or attorney that wasn’t obligated to serve your best interests. The same is true of your finances. Before working with any planner, ask the key question: “Are you held to a fiduciary standard at all times.” We are. Period.

…like Access to a Professional

We all know the feeling of a nagging question that has yet to be answered:

  • What should I do with those company stock options?

  • Can we really afford that house?

  • How much is enough when saving for retirement?

  • Should I add to savings or payoff grad school loans?

  • How can I put money aside for my child’s college costs?

Our clients experience peace of mind knowing they have access to professional advice. Furthermore, ongoing planning clients have a trusted person who knows their unique circumstances, understands their goals and values, and who cares deeply about their success.

…are tech-savvy

Going hand-in-hand with their busy professional and family lives, our clients love the option to work and communicate with us however is most convenient for them. We utilize video meetings, phone calls, e-mail, and texting. We also arrange in-person meetings as geography allows.

As a result, we are able to offer our services wherever you may be located:

  • No wasted time sitting in traffic to drive to a stuffy office.

  • Quickly send questions and share information when your schedule allows.

  • Communicate with us when it works best for you.

  • No need to change planners when you move.

We also use technology to collaborate with clients, including secure portals for confidential document sharing, software to communicate your financial picture and our recommendations, and tools to help you keep track of your financial progress.
