Our clients know that if a financial planner cannot explain her or his fees in 30 seconds or less, it’s time to find a new planner. We are a fee-only financial planner. Simply put, we are paid only by our clients. No commissions, no kickbacks, and no hidden fees. We do not sell any financial products, and there is no sales compensation leading to ulterior motives. Because fees are clearly stated in advance, clients know what to expect and avoid surprises. Our clients value the clarity of how we’re paid, and we think it’s the right way to do business.

Our clients know they have a guide and advocate acting in their best interest (called a “fiduciary standard of care” in legal terminology) through the murky waters of the financial world. As a fiduciary, we are legally bound to put clients’ interests before our own. We’ve chosen to be a fiduciary because we believe it’s the right thing to do.

It may come as a surprise that fiduciary planners are still the exception to the rule. After all, you wouldn’t see a doctor or attorney that wasn’t obligated to serve your best interests. The same is true of your finances. Before working with any planner, ask the key question: “Are you held to a fiduciary standard at all times.” We are. Period.
